Biomedical Science Student
Mohamad Fasrah Farhan bin Faudin is a Biomedical Science student at the University of Manchester, currently undertaking a final-year science communication project focused on emerging treatments for dementia.
Inspired by his personal experience as a caregiver to his mother, who has been living with dementia since 2024, he is committed to raising public awareness and improving understanding of the condition.
“Dementia does not take away a person’s dignity, identity, or need for love and understanding. Awareness and compassion can make a meaningful difference in their lives.”
Through this blog, Fasrah aims to explore not only the latest medical advancements and treatments for dementia, but also broader aspects of the condition, including diagnostic approaches, patient care, and lifestyle interventions that may support individuals living with dementia.
His work emphasizes the importance of health literacy by bridging the gap between scientific research and the general public, making complex medical information more accessible and meaningful to everyday readers.
Fasrah hopes to continue developing and updating this platform beyond his academic project as part of his ongoing commitment to increasing public awareness of dementia and highlighting the valuable work being carried out by researchers and healthcare professionals in the field. It is an honor for him working with Together Dementia Support
